First released from the 2008 vintage, the Grand Tourer Shiraz - is named after and produced in honour of Elderton co-founder, Neil Ashmead. Neil, who along with wife Lorraine, established Elderton and was a vital link in creating the Barossa's currently enjoyed status as one of Australia's most important viticultural areas.

With over four decades of winemaking experience, the three Giesen brothers are intimately acquainted with Marlborough's best vineyards and terroir. So it's no surprise our Clayvin Vineyard in Marlborough's Southern Valleys is the cornerstone of their premium wine programme. Certified organic, this north-facing hillside vineyard is nurtured with meticulous hands-on viticulture following biodynamic principles. The clay soils, varied root stocks and high density planted 30+ year old vines reduce vigour and promote root structure, delivering highly concentrated fruit with great structure, tannin and minerality. These wines deliver exceptional, pure expressions of the Clayvin Vineyard which they're proud to share with you.

The award-winning Grant Burge Meshach is our flagship Shiraz, only released in vintages of outstanding quality, handpicked from near century old vines from the famed Barossa Valley. The fruit for this wine has tremendous concentration and intensity, making Meshach a powerful, yet beautifully balanced wine.

The aromas exhibit raspberry and liquorice, complemented by warm spices. The palate mirrors the aromas, with medium to full bodied red berry fruits that elegantly melds with the acid and tannin to produce an extremely well balanced wine.

Dense, dark and irresistibly moreish, it bursts with ripe mulberry, plum and luscious berry fruit, layered with hints of raspberry jam and smooth mocha oak.
