The Last Shepherd Syrah is a bold Hawke's Bay Syrah and a deliciously good story. Floral aromas such as lilac, violet with lifted dark berry notes appear on the nose. On the palate, flavours of boysenberry and plum with well-integrated oak influence come through. With medium weight on the palate, this wine has a hint of pepper and warm spices, rounded out with a soft and velvety finish.

The nose is abundant with vibrant red fruits supported by subtle hints of French Oak. On the palate, well balanced tannins are intertwined with flavours of black cherries, satsuma plums and mulberries. Named in honour of a Thorn family ancestor, William Randell Shiraz is the only single vineyard Shiraz produced by Thorn-Clarke and is sourced from the older Kabininge Vineyard. This wine is only produced in exceptional years, and in very small volumes equating to less than 1% of total production. With fruit quality and intensity second to none, this wine is aged for 22 months in 100% new French and American oak. Black and inky in colour, the complexity and concentration evident on the nose and palate are amazing. Cellar up to 15 Years.

This Hawke's Bay Syrah displays rich and complex layers of dark berry fruit, lifted florals and savoury spice notes on the nose. Aged in French oak barriques for 15 months, the palate is finely balanced with concentrated black plum, peppery spice and smoothly structured tannins that lead to a finish with both length and power.

Wild raspberry, blueberry, cracked pepper and hints of vanilla bean show on the nose. Powerful and balanced ripe tannins give the wine great savoury structure.

The Homage is a beautifully aromatic wine with interwoven berry purity oak sophistication. A floral, scented nose initially dominates with brambly, blackberry & licorice aromatics sitting in the background. Intense and concentrated in the mouth with fine-grained tannins providing a powerful, yet silky texture. Balanced acidity & supportive oak ensure the wine remains vibrant, focused, & supple on a palate distinguished by exceptional length of flavour & a lingering spicy finish.

The nose is heady with loads of superb rich chocolate and savoury notes. The palate is rich and defined with rich flavours and great mouth feel. The palate progresses from Chocolate, plums, spice, and toasty oak then to an elegant tannic finish.

This magnificent Shiraz is named after Robert Strangeways Wigley, a noted South Australian eccentric and state cricketer who established Wirra Wirra back in 1894. This is a flagship Shiraz that befits McLaren Vale's reputation as a first class producer of this varietal and home to some of the oldest shiraz vines in the world.
