Arguably New Zealand's finest Pinot Noir, certainly if track records are taken into account, Ata Rangi have been doing Pinot Noir better and for longer than anyone. An incredibly consistent wine since the early 1980s, they've had a dream run even by their lofty standards with four of the finest vintages ever in succession.

Crimson is our selection of fruit from younger parcels of vines from our various vineyards on the Martinborough Terrace. In their youth, vines tend to be more fruit expressive, gaining more complexity with time. Now, Crimson is developing more depth of flavour, with a mix of vines aged from 5 to 20 years.

The nose is bright and intense with sweet red fruit and hints of cassis. Aromatics are tempered with notes of fennel and coriander seed, the palate unfolding with flavours of ripe red fruits and fresh blackcurrant.

In the Province range, Astrolabe emphasises the varietal intensity created by Marlborough's leafy vineyards, ripe fruit and cool-climate winegrowing conditions. This wine presents with ripe green flavours like passionfruit, blackcurrant leaf and gooseberry. In the palate, it is full and round and finishes dry and lingering. A drier style of Sauvignon Blanc, acidity kept nicely in balance with the alcohol and the very little residual sugar that is there, so it's all about how all these things come together to make a pleasurable whole. Astrolabe craft their wines so that nothing stands out as one singular spike, instead revealing a lovely layering of flavours and aromas that people can keep finding as they spend time savouring the glass.

In the Province range, Astrolabe emphasises the varietal intensity created by Marlborough's leafy vineyards, ripe fruit and cool-climate winegrowing conditions. Astrolabe Chardonnay combines elegant texture with a tight structure. The natural stonefruit and citrus flavours are complemented by aromatic complexity and texture creating an elegant, dry and mouth-filling wine. Stone fruit, vanilla creaminess, toasty oak, pleasing weight and a long, dry and mineral finish. The length and subtle power and will satisfy those who mainly come to the category of Chardonnay with a background in drinking white Burgundies.

Lively and unexpected, the Aromatics range demonstrates the potential of Marlborough to bring out exciting character in cool-climate aromatic grapes. Astrolabe's Marlborough Rosé is a blend from across multiple Marlborough sub-regions. It's pretty pale peach blush colour comes from minimised skin contact. On the nose you'll find apricot, peach and orange blossom. The palate is fresh and dry with bright red apple, red current and rose petal. A stylish, fresh and dry-style Rosé that is excellent as an aperitif or matched with prosciutto wraped melon, buttermilk-fried cauliflower, and delicate fish with sea salt.

Lively and unexpected, the Aromatics range demonstrates the potential of Marlborough to bring out exciting character in cool-climate aromatic grapes. In NZ, the varietal is generally called Pinot Gris rather than Pinot Grigio and encompasses a wide range of residual sugar levels and styles. Astrolabe Marlborough Pinot Gris is a nod towards some of the more aromatic, finer examples of northern Italian, higher altitude Pinot Grigio as well as referencing a little the wines of Alsace, but it's pretty much a Kiwi style - a Marlborough style. Pear, quince and peach flavours dominate. An aromatic, crisp and precise wine, and stylistically dryer than most. A beautiful food wine that pairs with a wide range of food.

Aged in French barrels for 12 months creating a soft earthy nose with blackcurrent aromas developing nicely. Ingratiate yourself with sweet varietal fruit and a lingering dark chocolate promise.

Aromas of lemon curd and crushed almonds with supporting notes of grapefruit. There are aromatic notes too, notably Asian lily and citrus blossom. The palate is pure and focused with a line of acidity bring all of the structural components together. Finishing rich and long.

Elegant nose with aromas of tropical fruits and stone fruits combined with a hint of fresh hazelnut. Well-rounded and smooth with a well-balanced acidity.

Elegant and complex with aromas of ripe black fruits, blackcurrant leaf combined with spicy notes such as liquorice and vanilla. Well-balanced with smooth tannins and a long finish.

A rich and well structured Rosé, with fruity characters of red fruits and spring flowers.
