This non-vintage Champagne Brut Rosé marks the fourth wine released in Penfolds collaboration series with Champagne House Thiénot. In 2019, Penfolds re-ignited their love affair with France, a special place for Penfolds, and announced their inaugural Champagne partnership with Thiénot. With Penfolds first Champagne Brut Rosé release, they celebrate the shared mutual style and quality ambitions between Thiénot chef de cave Nicholas Uriel and Penfolds Chief Winemaker Peter Gago. This Champagne is inviting, exotic. Balanced, with an overt freshness - crispness up-front, and a delicate dosage imprint on finish. Relaxed acidity, friendly effervescence. Subtle mandarin and raspberry fruits impact immediately - over a flavour base of strawberry with pepper / Turkish Delight with pistachio. The 2016 is masterful expression of the house style, crafted from a classic blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay sourced from 20 Grands and Premiers Crus in the Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs. Produced in limited quantities and aged in the estate's deep, cool cellars before release, this cuvée shows exceptional finesse from its meticulous vinification. In the glass, it shimmers pale yellow with silver highlights, offering a fine, persistent mousse and an inviting nose of dried fruit, cocoa, almond, and coconut, later opening to Mirabelle plum and eau de vie.
